Black Ink Crew Episode 1 Review

So I checked out Black Ink Crew last night and it was soooooooooooooo all over the place. But lets start from the beginning. Black Ink is a tattoo shop in Harlem, NY. The show’s cast includes

Ceasar – owner and tattoo artist

Dutchess – tattoo artist

O Shit – tattoo artist

Sassy – event manager of the shop

Puma – shop manager

Alex – shop manager

The show was such a mess it was entertaining. Lol. Its obvious that Ceasar and Dutchess are attracted to one another, they flirt harmlessly throughout the episode. Dutchess gets into a near physical altercation with a “Mixxy” at the shop.

A mixxy apparently is a female that always has to be in the mix. LMAO  Alex was the life of the show. While its unclear what her real job title is she introduced herself as the shop manager so…..Lol. But she oversteps her bounds numerous times on last nights episode…with no repercussions at all. Not only did she insult a customers tattoo choice but she then cause a huge fight with Ceasar in front of the customer in the lobby of the shop. Like come on now yall. Ceasar proceeded to “fire” her only for her to come back in a few hours and party with the crew after the shop closed for the night. She then proceeds to come into work over an hour late the next day hungover and dressed like she was walking the street the night before. Ceasar screamed and once again “fired’ her only for her to end up laughing with him a few hours later.

O Shit is a cocky lil something…he claims to be the best tattoo artist in the shop, and proceeds to show off when a client of Ceasar’s comes into the shop. The customer wanted a feather tattoo…after O Shit went on and on he challenged Ceasar to a draw off to see who could draw the better tattoo. O Shit ended up winning and the customer chose him to do her tattoo. She however didn’t like how the stencil looked on her body and O Shit sent her away and didn’t do the tattoo. He advised she come back later when she wasn’t so indecisive and was ready to make a solid commitment about her tattoo. He also showed up late to work after the party in the shop the night before…4 hours late to be exact, leaving his customer waiting for hours and consequently got fired.

Puma shows up work missing a damn tooth from partying too hard and is told he cant work up front until he gets his tooth replaced….since he is the face of the shop. He has a baby on the way with one of the ‘mixxy’ girls nd the guys at the shop all recommend he got a DNA test on the baby. Sassy seems like the only normal person on the show. She doesnt keep up drama and seems to be the glue that keeps the shop together.

I will be tuning in weekly to see what new drama unfolds. Its actually a quite entertaining show.
